This webcsat will focus on issues regularly faced by in-house counsel relating to the ownership, use, registration, policing and enforcement of their client's trademarks.  The program will include discussions of the following topics, among others:

    * Adoption and ownership of trademarks on the internet;      
    * Use of trademarks on websites as evidence of use;   
    * Strategies for using the internet to police your client's trademarks, and how to locate the owner in
       cyberspace;
    * Trademarks used in key-word searching;
    * Infringing use of trademarks in metatags and domain names;
    * ICANN domain name dispute mechanisms;
    * Use of your client's trademarks in "Gripe-Sites".

The panel will include prominent practitioners in the areas of trademark maintenance and enforcement as well as insights from in-house counsel who face the above and other trademark issues on a regular basis.
